The Green Knight: Y Marchog Gwyrdd is a response to the Arthurian legends of southwest Wales—where I am from and which some believe to be the true setting of these tales. This piece reflects both my regional heritage and serves as a contribution to my illustration graduate portfolio. Arthurian mythology blends fable and legend, with variations across Wales and the UK. In my depiction, the earthly figure or foe wields a sword rather than an axe, a subtle shift found in different tellings. The illustration below is a scanned version of the final print, produced using a risograph machine, using ink colours "Green" and "Black", and printed onto 160gsm "cupcycling paper" in A3.
